Moto wireless keyboard can't pair

Ok so I have this keyboard I found in a box from when I had the Moto Xoom I've tried pairing with nexus player and it just won't pair. I can pair with my Moto X 2015 just fine. Been searching online and can't find the answer hoping someone on good ol XDA will have a work around or solution.. PS I have already rest the keyboard per keyboard manual and tried putting it in computer pairing mode it won't budge... I read on manual about device must supporter Bluetooth HID but can't find anything about this in relation to Nexus Player
