I've been given a Tab 2 with - I'm like 95% sure - a worn out eMMC chip. I can't do anything, since it's running on readonly mode and I'm willing to import an eMMC chip from Aliexpress and get it replaced (I know some people who can get it reballed).
Still, first I'd like to know - will it be possible to launch into DL Mode with a completely erased eMMC or am I SOL and would require a JTAG rig / a jig? Has anyone in here tried it before? Is the DL Mode code contained in eMMC or in the OMAP's memory?
I am also wondering if it's possible to launch DL Mode via sdcard if it's impossible to do so with an erased eMMC.
