How to prevent overwrite of files when flashing new rom update?

As I mentioned in the title, how to prevent overwrite of some files when flashing new rom update? e.g. I want to save my custom build.prop tweaks and some UI sounds , but that files will be overwritten because of the same files name which will be flashed while rom updat from twrp...
