Xiaomi has been releasing a lot of devices recently and with even more on the horizon, the company may find it hard to keep its commitment to release kernel source code on a timely basis. The newly released Xiaomi Mi 8 SE's kernel source code has just been released so developers can now get to work on porting TWRP, creating custom AOSP-based ROMs, and custom kernels for the device.
If you need a brief refresher on the device, it's the first smartphone to sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 system-on-chip. It's the mid-range counterpart to Xiaomi's flagship Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer Edition. We expect each of the devices in the Mi 8 series to gain a decent following on our forums, so if you're interested in the device and all of the latest news, tips, tricks, and developments, then visit the Xiaomi Mi 8 forums on XDA!
