YouTube App Force Closed in Background

I run my YouTube app in the background to listen to music, but the phone seems to close it every now and again in order to "save battery."
I cannot make the app unmonitored because it does not show up in that section of the battery management app.
Does anyone have any experience in keeping background apps running?
