Trying to flash my M4 to older or different ROM so i can unlock bootloader

hi there,

like the title says im trying to flash a different ROM to see if i can unlock the bootloader and or if anyone knows a way i can root my device without the bootloader that would be great too but i think ive expended all my options..... if you can help in any way that would be great! thank you
