Tablet style Chrome on phone

Hello all, first post here. I've found countless answers to questions I've had for Android devices all thanks to you guys. Thank you so much! I've ran into a bit of a problem that bugs the heck out of me. I love Chrome on my tablet, but not so much on my phone. Is there a method to putting the tablet style Chrome on my phone? You know, with the tabs across the top of the screen with the back, forward, and reload buttons? I feel my screen is big enough, and it would save time to switch tabs (one click vs two). Ideally I'd like it to auto update without going back to the phone version, but I don't want to spoof Play store. Any ideas? Thanks in advance guys!

Battery "Stay Awake" Problem

For some reason, my phone just won't sleep even when I sleep! Do you guys have a fix for this? Thank you.

I already did the wipe cache thing and I restarted the phone mamy times. I also tried package disabler pro.

Verizon Wifi Calling

Just took a little trip down to Verizon to check out the HTC 10. I know I will love this pone. besides all the verizon bloat and crap, heck i even saw a game on it with no google account set up to install any so I assume it will ship with all of it. I just wanted to share something I saw with everyone. In the advanced calling section of settings it has an option for Verizon WiFi calling. So it looks like the HTC10 will support Verizon WIFI calling. I know I read somewhere that the unlocked version will work with Tmobiles WiFi calling and that wasn't a surprise. They may be good news for some people. As i leave Verizon and switch to ATT I think well I could have used that before when service sucked but its a little to late for me. Att works everywhere I need it to where verizon has failed me in the past. I wonder if the unlocked version works on Verizon is WiFi calling will be supported as well?

MPAtool [for W10M] (APP REQUEST)

Loved the app MPAtool for attaching Artist and Album images those which lack it. But unfortunately that lasted until the early Windows Phone 8.1 era. After the Denim update and the Windows 10 update no such app is shown in the store. It would be better if I could get a similar app or MPAtool itself again! Like always the Groove Music app (previously the XBOX Music App) is unable to solve such artist image missing problems! No available workaround for the Music app were found by me. Please the developers out there, help me with this problem and guide me through the best solutions! Thank you

Stuck on B171!? Can't upgrade to MM, help, please!

I have a problem with my L-21 Huawei P8 Lite. Some time ago, I have bricked my phone and I had to restore it. Don't know how, but I installed B171 update (this is a single sim fw I think) on a dual sim phone!

Color saturation

When I'm in the sun, the saturation of the screen is too much, and everything looks almost cartoon like. When I move the phone out of the sun, it reverts back to normal. I've turned adaptive display off. Any other ideas?

Chromecast issue

Anyone having issues connecting to the first generation Chromecast? My Mate 8 won't see mine no matter what I do. All of my other phones can see the Chromecast just fine.

My device runs 5.0.2 stock Lollipop, 5.0 screen, rooted, has TWRP recovery 3.0.0.0, SDK21, Linux Kernel 3.10, unlocked bootloader...
The sources of the device were already published by Alcatel and there are already two ROMs for it out there. One is MIUI 7.6(5.1.1 Lollipop) Beta (ported from Moto G 2015 I think) and a full stock ROM without Vodafone apps, rooted and with a few customizations...
Please somebody make CM for this device! I would really appreciate it even if it's an alpha version I don't care! Just do it plz :(

I have ported MIUI v7 rom, flashed just fine but STUCK AT BOOT LOGO !

I have ported a MIUI v7 rom for the s4 mini gt-i9195 lte. I was able to flashed it succesfully with TWRP recovery but i am stuck at boot logo :confused: If someone know how to fix this, please reply maybe we can have a MIUI v7 rom for our phones. :cowboy:

Restored a TWRP backup, now swipe pattern isn't working

So, I just restored a TWRP backup to my phone from earlier today, and upon boot, I can't unlock my phone. My fingerprint brings up the unlock pattern as normal, but my phone doesn't accept the pattern. And it's the same pattern I've always used, so it's not just me being stupid. Anyone know of a way around this? I'm going to try restoring the backup again, but I'm guessing it won't work any differently the 2nd time.

Nexus 5X Slow Performance

I also did a recent discovery today: The Moto X Play its faster when it comes to take pictures, also a lot faster than the N5X with HDR enable in both phones.

Im really, both amazed and disappointed by this. I switched from a Moto X Play to the N5X to find only lags and slow performance.

Anyone else have experienced something like this? Is this a general problem or my device could be defective?

SD Card and LG G5

I'm planning to get the ATT version of the G5 but I had a question about the SD card. Are you able to write files to the MicroSD without root? Is there another way bypass it? I want to buy the phone already because my g4 is crapping out already but I've been waiting for root to come..but this is all I need to get by until root is achieved. Thanks!

S7 edge 935F model. No service.

Hi there,

The phone worked fine a month but after an firmware update. I am getting "no service" permenantly.
Tried almost everything.
- mobile networks in setting finds no networks.
- tried a different sims (including a european prepaid sim from ireland)
- factory reset
- tried downgrade to the older rom (EGY oldest firmware) nothing works and even the latest UK(BTU) firmware
I am located in the US (cricket wireless). I believe the phone was the EGY origin.

Anyone else having or seen a solution to this issue would be greatly appriecated.
I think it's something with the region lock. This is very frustrating as first experience with an andriod phone.

boot verification failed after marshmellow update

I got the software update notification for my lg g3 with at&t and clicked it, it did the software update to my knowledge...i watched it go from 0% to 100% in both steps or both phases. Then it said it needed to restart, i clicked ok or maybe it was continue and the phone powered off to restart...It pulled up tgeo lg title screen or whatever you want to call it and in the top left corner it said boot verification failed!!, and then cause-different hash. Before this update my o hone w i rked perfectly, not one problem.
Now as far as trying to fix it; ive removed the battery and ive done the factory setting reset that would end up deleting all my info. The battery thing did nothing and the factory reset would start and then the screen would go blank and then nothing. Someone please help me get my phone working again.

LG G3 Boot verification Failed

Hello , I watched all the tutorials unbrick lg g3 with boarddiag , flashtools ..
But I can not repair my phone (probably because I suck :silly:) If I do this is to recover my data. My smartphone does not start anymore "boot verification failed" but it is recognized when I connect with USB ( Qualcomm ) . Issue open web content

No matter if I'm connected trough wlan or LTE youtube videos sometimes starts sometimes not. Web content in browser or in Facebook app often is loading very long. Can't share videos to whatsapp. Other devices works very well on same wlan or same sim card.
Any suggestion?

I think failed rooting on N5 causes issues

I flashed, unlocked and tried to root my phone with this guide:

Why I think rooting failed is that that I followed the guide through to the last step and after the last step clockwork mod said that rooting failed and I had two options to root or go back (but judging by the system messages the SU zip was installed). I think here I made the mistake to choose rooting "again". I read later in another guide but concerning twrp that this situation where the SU zip gets installed but the message says Installation failed a bug is and that I should not do what I did.

Anyway root was not achieved as I checked with the root checker app. The recovery mode now looks a bit strange. And I cannot install the current patch for marshmallow because it is an unsigned zip.

Where do I go from here reflash the recovery? And install SU again

wifi problems

Hi guys ive exhausted all kinds of options to fix my issue but now I'm at a lost. I've had a g3 for about a year now and never had an issue. Until maybe 2 weeks ago. My WiFi will not stay connected to any internet I've tried. My WiFi, my work one, even McDonalds. Pretty much anything it will connect then disconnect. Make them completed undiscoverable. Stay connected for an hour, 2 hours. Completely unpredictable.

I'm currently running OctOS MM rom. Before that though I was running resurrection remix (5.1.1) which is when it started. I've done several wipes. I've even wiped the internal storage. I'm starting to think it's a hardware failure but I really don't know. Anyone have any thoughts in the subject. Sorry this is a little long. ( my actual data works great but I live in a deadzone so I need my WiFi lol)

What camera app are you using?

Hi,

We all know how much ****ty the camera is of our htc 816 , first when i was in kitkat i guess it was fine and great :) But after lollypop it's completely ruined.

So for the best performance what camera app are you using ? Mostly for taking selfies - when i take selfies there so much noise and blurriness in the pictures.

Also if you are using some custom setting for your camera app please share :3

I have been thinking of buying a new one only for front camera, so if anyway i can make this one better that will save all the money :P

App install

Just got a G4. Factory reset as soon as I got it. Its on 6.0. I'm having issues where when I download an app it either takes forever to install all together or it gets stuck on installing and doesent install at all. Also when and if it finally installs it's missing from the app drawer in both stock launcher and nova. Anyone else have this problem and know what to do? I'm pretty sure this happenedyyears ago when I had a G3. Have they really not fixed this issue?

Since TWRP my screen is on the contrary, read my post!

I am having troubles with my current Galaxy S6.

Have tried to install TWRP3.0 it seems that version was made for the Edge.
Since than my screen is vice versa.

Because the next button is the left area. And the back button is the right area.
This problem came since i was trying to install the ''TWRP-3.0_MM_S6-edge_by_ManhIT.tar'' now i found this version: TWRP-3.0_MM_S6_by_ManhIT.tar

The weird problem is the standard TWRP when i try to install from (http://ift.tt/1VZAV6N?) i get this error: RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING

How to fix this damn issue.

Unroot? Running NK1

S4 on Verizon running I545VRUFNK1, and rooted.

Upgrading phones, so I'd like to factory reset the S4. I've read that factory resetting a rooted phone isn't particularly safe. If that's true, then I'd like to unroot, then reset, but not sure how to unroot.

I've NK1 file (I545VRUFNK1_I545VZWFNK1_I545VRUFNK1_HOME.tar.md5) and Kies3. Just not sure how to proceed. :confused:

Installing Marshmallow/CM13 ROM from a newbie

Hi there.

Have an Asus ZenPad S 8.0 for 6 months now and it has been stuck to Android 5.0 ever since. Asus UK have been dodging my tweets and emails inquiring about Lollipop or a Marshmallow update and i'm basically fed up now.

I happen to have a Mac and limited to no experience when it comes to ROM's and zero experience to rooting a device.

I'd like to ask for help on how to easily install Marshmallow or CM13 on my tablet so i can benefit from the newest OS Android has to offer and not waiting for Asus for forever.

SM-G900M Stuck in bootloop

My SM-G900M is stuck in a boot loop.

When this happened, I Tried to do a factory reset plus cleaning cache in recovery. However this didnot fix my problem so I decided to reflash using odin, so i download the official rom and installed it but again same issue happened. After so much research and headache I installed CWM and did a kalvic, factory reset + format system a few times then I reflashed it afterwards. This seemed to have made the boot loop even worse since I doesn't pass through samsung galaxy s5 powered by android logo. That where the boot loop happens.

So overall I have tried
Reflashing ROM about 5 or 6 times using odin
Flashing a custom recovery multiple times
Factory reset
Clean cache + kalvic
FORMAT system and boot
Pulling the battery out for about a trillion times
Flashing ROM + PIT FILE + BOOTLOADER with odin
Flashing only the PIT File, Only the BOOTLOADER, Both Together
Flashing a custom kernel

Current result:
An Expensive Brick :crying:

Zooper Widget External SD Card Indicator

So I can't figure out what's the correct path to my external sd card so that it can show up on Zooper Widget. I guess this is a MM thing so I'm wondering if anyone's figured out how to fix this or if you know any way I can get a widget to show the current space avaiable on my external sd card. On JB this was a nice thing to have. Zooper and HD Widgets both were able to show the status of my internal and external storage. Now I'm stuck with only being able to see my internal storage.

Any news on a fix or if anyone is currently working on this? Thanks!

Vooc compatibility

According to the official specifications the F1 doesn't support Vooc quick charging. Has anyone tried, using either an official OPPO Vooc charger, a Qualcomm charger or some other Vooc charger? Wonder if it's worth getting a seperate charger. At least the qualcomm default should give some effect.

Prevent/disable sleep on fire TV stick

Hi, so I have a fire stick, which I need to relay a single website on constantly for a company, but the thing is, even though firefox is open the stick will go to sleep mode. I sorta need this turned off, I understand there is a way to do this via adb commands, could anyone explain this further? I've tried tasker yet failed to even set up a profile as I couldn't hit the + button with the limited scrolling and functionality that accompanies the remote control with the stick.

HTC 10 US version in Europe for LTE?

I currently use AT&T and often visit Europe and use my Vodafone sim card while I am over there. It seems like US version supports most of the Vodafone LTE bands, but EMEA version supports none of the AT&T bands. Should I buy the new HTC 10 from US?

According to this web site, Vodafone Turkey works on; 800, 900, 1800, 2100, and 2600 bands. http://ift.tt/1TaReao
And AT&T works on; 2(1900), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), and 17(700).

I am little confused because, for example; 2600 frequency is listed as 38(2600) and 7(2600), while 700 frequency is listed as 17(700) and 28(700) for US and EMEA versions.

And if I buy the US version, I will not be getting hi-fi headphones right?:confused:

April 2016 software update one plus: stuck at lock screen

Device: OnePlus One Sandstone Black 64 GB
This phone only has factory installed software and has been updated after automatically receiving software update prompts on the phone.

On 28th April, 2016 a software update popped up on my OPO. I installed it and started using it. My 4G/LTE internet from T--mobile was NOT working, so I thought of a reboot. After a reboot, I'm not able to get past the phone LOCK. When I swipe the screen to unlock my phone, the screen dims and the phone is useless. What are the options to fix this? I've imp data inside the phone.

Is there a way to go back to the state before the update. I've found lot of stuff on the internet that has overwhelming info. I'm afraid to follow most of them because of the fear of losing data.

Hey guyz, I need help

Hey, today I flashed my HTC desire 601 with a new custom rom (which didn't have google playstore) and it had titanium backup, so I used it to (accidentally) uninstall settings.apk from the system>apps :D So now I have a situation, where I can't install any new apps, cause installation from unknown sources is disabled and I can't access settings to disable it and plus I can't boot into recovery to flash any new roms, cause fastboot in settings>power is enabled. So technically I have my phone bricked, something like a bootloop, but the only difference is that the phone turns on and every installed app works fine.

Is there any way out??

Marshmallow HomeScreen Blinking

Hey guys .. Just flashed firmware marshmallow on my G3 but homescreen just keep blinking and I can't do nothing .. Somehow I enter to settings via notification bar shortcut , select EasyHome and this going OK, but when I choose Home the screen won't stop blinking :eek:

Do you have any idea how this can be fix ?

Rooted and screwed....

Bought an edge S7, rooted like I have many of my Samsung devices. (12 of them since 2012).and yes I know the risks. Dropped my phone on table corner and cracked the screen, unusable. So I flashed back to stock and drove to Samsung service centre for a lcd replacement. $336 and a day later I pickup the phone. First thing I notice is a high pitch warning..... Says device is overheating, can't charge, bla, bla bla. So I reboot into recovery and it says device is 90c. Unrealistic temperature, actually impossible. I have flashed many Roms and made lots of androids and it never goes past 42c. I write Samsung repair shop complaining that the device is overheating falsely and I want to bring it back. His response:

Your phone is rooted, it is not performance as a standard function. Only we can replace the mainboard that to solve the issue

So how is this my fault? My edge was working perfectly before I brought it in and now it's my fault it's falsely overheating? Any ideas or advice? Obviously I refuse to pay for something the screwed up. I love Samsung but this is infuriating.

"Enable OEM Unlock" in developer options.

What does this actually do to tell the bootloader that it is ok to unlock.
Write a 1 byte file to the system partition?
Write one byte of the bootloader?

Searching google just gave "How to Enable OEM Unlock to unlock your bootloader" articles nothing on how it actually works.

Benefits - Downsides to Rooting

Hello everyone

I've always jailbroken my iPhones in the past, since it was such a constrained environment.

Since last year I've been rooting my Android Phones. Currently my new Note 5 is not rooted, since I'm questioning if I should root.

I've seen other threads that superficially deal with the PROS/CONS of rooting. I want to hear yours.

My PROS for rooting:

• Greenifying apps for battery saving (though I'm currently not sure how much battery life is really saved)
• Installing Xposed - I always use "no high volume warning", and "background youtube videos"
• Use Amplify for battery saving
• Use of F.lux or CF.lumen (for removing blue light at night)
• Install apps like Youtube downloader by Arter97

My current CONS of rooting:

• Losing the phone's warranty
• The energy I spend being obsessed with battery performance
• The bugs I encounter from time to time with rooted devices

Please share your PROS/CONS.
Are you someone who used to root phones? Do you currently do so? Why?

Is it a bad idea to restore a nandroid from Lollipop while on Marshmallow?

I'm just curious, I have some unimportant but interesting heartrate data from a few weeks of workouts on my lollipop nandroid that I wouldn't mind having on MM.

I remember reading that we couldnt go back to KK from LP so I wonder if its the same for MM to LP.

V10 promo sd card

So, I received my SD card and all that jazz. Was totally excited to use my brand new SD card. Can't write. I've tried on 5 different desktops, 5 different laptops, my phone, phone via usb, and external SD card reader. It will read, but I can't format it and can't write to the card as if it's on permanent lock.

Called LG support to see if they could send me a replacement. They basically told me to **** myself and buy another 200gb SD card.

How Can I Get Out of This Bootloop on My Moto G

I woke up to find my 1st Generation Moto G battery was depleted and on charging it a bit., I switched it on only to find it optimizing my apps. All these (battery getting depleted, app optimization) happen all the time and I wasn't the least worried.

I picked up my phone later thinking it must have been done with the app optimization only to discover it was totally dead while still connected to a power bank. When I try to switch it on, it is stuck on the "Unlock Bootloader" page. I have tried flashing a new stock rom and it does not work.

I attached the image I see when I try to use recovery to wipe. Basically, nothing works. Can anybody help as I just fixed the screen and also out of warranty?

Video warping and zooming in?

Hi everyone, I have had my SGS7E for 3 weeks now, in fact, I've had two (changed color). But sometimes I get this when I'm recording a video. This only happens in the beginning of the video:
1) It zooms in closer (I'm recording in 720 and 1080, no need for 4K in my usage).
2) I get warping like in the screenshots below- it doesn't always happen, but sometimes it does and it bugs me!
Any ideas?

Wi-Fi is not usable anymore...bcmdhb.ko missing

Hi guys!
I have a big big issue with my G2 D802.
I flashed CM13 two days ago and since that day I had a lot of problems with Wi-Fi!
It doesn't connect properly, seems like it stuck on activation and when it turns on the connection drops everytime!
I tried to use FlashTool to repair this issue but this problem affect also KK stock rom and every fw I use..

I know that bcmdhb.ko is the wi-fi driver and I saw that in system/lib/modules it's missing...

Do you think that copying a bcmdhb.ko from another D802 can solve the issue?

As you may or may not know is that Kodi is maintained by a group of volunteers since its first inception dating back to the original XBOX days. Over the years many volunteers have spent countless days if not months on every aspects of what makes Kodi great. This consist of writing and maintaining the code base of Kodi, expanding to new platforms, maintaining the forum, wiki, website and download server and more……

So why do we need you? Well the fact is that over the years the core team of Kodi has remained about the same size while the amount of users went from couple of thousand to many, many millions. Not forgetting the fact that it went from only a XBOX application to what is now running on Linux, Windows, iOS, OSX, Android. All this still with the same amount of people. Now comes the time that we will actually start calling out for some help. To put it simple we want to ensure that Kodi remains alive on all platforms while at the same time lowering the support burden each developer now faces these days. Each of the core developers has his own specialty and since Kodi is quite big you quickly run out of developers that know enough of certain sections. Add to that the changes needed for each operating system upgrade that happens and all the problems that arise with that.

To put it in perspective we basically have only 1 developer for each section or even complete platform. As already mentioned the entire team consists of volunteers which means everything is done in their spare time next to having an actual day time job and a personal life. This results in having only a few hours at most to spend on what they see as their hobby which i can say they are passionate about.*Over the years the team consisted of many different developers who gave all they could but due to whatever reason had to change priorities which resulted in not spending time in Kodi anymore.

So in short what we are looking for are C/C++ developers who are willing to put in some of their spare time in maintaining and improving our core code. This can either be doing some minor bugfixing, reviewing existing pull requests for code contributions or even creating some of their own code refactoring or feature additions. It really doesn't matter if you are just a student just starting out on C/C++ or are already a senior programmer. We would welcome anyone who is willing to do their part on any improvement that is needed. A fair warning is that our codebase isn't for the faint hearted as it's quite massive and we are quite strict regarding code review before we merge anything. However don't let this frighten you off as our current (or outside developers) will certainly give you pointers on improvements to get it included.

What we currently need most are developers with knowledge of the following components to improve current implementations:

• Windows DirectX11 / audio / video•*Android NDK / audio / video• iOS & OSX / audio / video• General knowledge of C/C++ and willing to do some coding in areas of their interest.

Any bugfix can be send to our main github code repository for review straight away. If you are not sure or want to take on a bigger task or change feel free to open up a thread on our forum where you write down your proposal to get some initial feedback.

Moto X 2nd Generation not detecting all bluetooth devices

when i am trying to connect using bluetooth it is not detecting all devices.
it got connecting to Xiaomi Redmi-1s mobile but it is not detecting other devices.

Embarrassed to ask, cannot figure out how to get into recovery on new 5.1 joying HU

Even adb reboot recovery isn't working I've tried holding reset but it just appears to actually reset unlike my 4.4 unit. However this unit has a rotary volume knob and physical buttons. I tried a combination of reset and the buttons as well. This is the unit I have, anyone care to make me feel like an idiot and tell me how easy it is?

Facebook "can't connect right now"

I have been having this problem constantly since upgrading to MM. Facebook says "can't connect right now. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, etc. I have to constantly stop the program in order to use it.

I've seen some references to it related to power management, but I can't find a solution.

Any ideas?

Issue connecting to YoCam device (wifi issue?) with 6P, other android devices connect

So my YoCam camera arrived, and excited to receive my new kickstarter toy, I tried to connect it to my phone following the basic instructions.

Phone sees and connects to the device via wireless, but the app refuses to connect. However using other android phones will allow me to connect to the camera, using exactly the same process., so it does not appear at least at a basic level, an android or an app issue.

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions, or can suggest some troubleshooting tools so i can get a better view of what is going on.

Gmail sync issues still persists

Hey guys,
Ever since I have got my 6p and Marshmallow, my hotmail account doesn't sync with the gmail app. It works fine till the moment I compose a mail and send it. After this, the mail just gets queued in the outbox folder and none of the folders hereafter gets synced.
Is there any fix for this?
P.S I already use outlook account for it but prefer the gmail app. On april patch and elementalX kernel. Everything else stock and all apps are also updated.

HTC 10 gets hot

I'm doing some comparison between M8 and 10, starting apps, scrolling, loading webpages.. maybe for 30-45 minutes. Now HTC 10 feels hot, and the M8 is just a bit warm to the touch. I checked the temperature with CPU-Z. It's 40,5 degrees Celsius for HTC 10 and 36,5 degrees Celsius for HTC M8.

Other HTC 10 owners feeling that the device gets really hot with normal usage?

[GUIDE]Triple Booting Remix OS, Linux and Chrome OS

The trick is to install Chrome OS first, shrink the Chrome OS main partition, and install Linux and Remix in their own partitions.

• Download Chrome OS from here and install it as directed. It will destroy everything else on the disk, and make a large partition for data storage, and another 11 partitions for whoknows what.
• Boot Linux with a live USB stick or CD. Shrink the first, large partition using parted. I started out with a 450GB partition that I shrunk to 180. Make 5 new partitions using fdisk or whatever you like for partitioning. I made a 250 MB partition for Linux boot, a 120GB partition for Linux /, a 120GB partition for Linux /home, an 8GB partition for Linux swap, and a 30GB partition for Remix. Use your own judgment.
• Install Linux in the Linux partitions. I use Gentoo, but you can use whatever you like.
• Boot up linux.
• Install Remix OS in the last partition:
  • Download the zip file from this thread. Unzip the file; it contains an installer for Windoze(<somethingorother>.exe), and an .iso file. Make a temporary directory

Help with GearWatchDesigner

Hello,
I have been playing with the beta of Samsung's GearWatchDesigner software. I have created a working watch face and have it running on my Gear S2. What I am trying to do is, the watch face I am using has a box on it to display the day, but I'm not sure how to set that up in the project.
I used png files for the hands and background. I also have a png file that has the day numbers from 1 to 31 in a vertical set up. Does it maybe have to be in a circle? And how would it be integrated into the project to change the number every day? I saw that you can set up an additional "hand" that syncs with the day but it also has rotation settings and a vertical layout shouldn't rotate, that's why I'm wondering if I need to find a circular layout for the numbers.

[Q] How to force apps to remember ringtone/notification preferences between ROM flash

Hey folks, I'm a frequent flasher.
I keep all my favorite notification and ringtones on my external SD card.
One thing that has always bugged me, is that my apps never remember my ringtone/notification preferences between ROM flashes.

So like if I do a clean flash of a new AOSP ROM, then restore all my apps (with app data) from Titanium Backup, then go into say.. Chomp SMS to check my ringtones, the app will remember that I had a custom ringtone.
But it won't remember how to find it.
I always have to reset the ringtone preferences.

I've always assumed I'm out of luck, but you know what... I've never asked to see if anyone knows of a good method to force various apps to remember that my ringtones/etc. are on /ext-sdcard/ringtones (or whichever path it may be).

Lenovo Tab a10-30 bricked or fixable?

Hello everyone,

I will share my experience with you, and I hope for a solution!

A few days ago I rooted my Lenovo tab 2 A10-30 successfully using Kingroot. Then, I tried to change Kinguser with SuperSU, which I also successfully did. However, I noticed that although the main root app was SuperSU, Kingroot was still on my phone, so I deleted it using a bloatware removal app and restarted the tablet. Now it won't turn on. It gets stuck at the Lenovo loading screen, and that's about it. When I press the power button + volume down button, it gets me to a Chinese menu that is not the recovery mode (there is no MMC, just options about voloume, colors, mic test etc). If I press the volume up+ volume down + power button, it just brightens the screen and shows nothing.

I tried flashing the stock ROM using the Smart Phone Flash Tool, but the PC does not recognize fully the tablet (it just prompts me to install the Lenovo USB drivers, and I cannot access the tablet's internal storage). Moreover, the Lenovo windows applications do not recognize the tablet when I connect it to the PC.

I really do hope that there is a way I can fix it.. Thank you all in advance.

Bypass Activation/Setup screen.

Hi Community!

I was wondering if there was a way to skip the initial activation screen / setup wizard. Ive been looking around to see if there was something that can be done with adb but it seems in order to talk to the device (at least on my mac), the device has to have developer options turned on and MTP set in order for adb to talk to the Samsung S7.
Really what Im looking for is something in which I can plug in a phone or phones in and run and have them get past the activation screen and straight to home screen.

Anybody know of a way to do this?

Installed the wrong Xposed. Can I remove it before flashing wanam's xposed?

I have S7 Edge and installed the regular xposed zip and now my device is in a boot loop. How can I remove what I previously installed and flash wanam's xposed zip?

Or will just flashing wanam's version work?

I'm hoping I don't have to wipe/factory reset. If I do have to do this then will I lose my root?

Signal Issues: Hardware or Software?

Poor phone signal.
I have reinstalled the latest official firmware, then a custom rom again. The imei matches the original. Any other ideas please?

Javascript error on an app that has GPS Fleet Tracking

I have a mobile app for my driver to capture pickup and deliver info and it also has GPS tracking. When logged in checking GPS status on the driver it shows a number of JavaScript Timeout errors at different times in his day and sometimes back to back. When this is happening, no info is recorded from the app showing deliveries, pickups or anything it normally would be. I use other note 4's and it works fine. The exact error reads: "JavaScript timeout (enabled)(LA 280 RB) repeated 2 times". The number after LA changes all the time and is not consistent. I do have more than one phone doing this. Any ideas on what could be causing this and how to fix would be greatly appreciated. The app vendor has not been able to help fix it at all.

WiFi not staying on Z5, Marshmallow 6.0

Ever since I upgraded to Marshmallow 6.0 it would seem my Wifi won't stay on when the phone sleeps. This has started to cause me data issues so I was wondering if anyone else had these issues or a possible fix?

My wifi is set to stay on at all times.
6.0 removed stamina mode, there is currently no battery saving modes turned on
I have done a factory reset through the companion tool, but the issue still seems to occur

Horizontal Bands on Gear S2 Screen

Has anyone ever seen an issue like seen in the picture (horizontal dark bands across the Gear S2 screen). I've only had the watch two weeks and this happened. I've tried soft and hard resets to no avail.

Root D850 Marshmallow?

Hai :) I flashed Turbo ROM and for some reason I don't have root... I have SuperSU but it says there's no su binary installed... Also I can't get into TWRP, because it hangs on the TWRP logo screen and doesn't get passed that. How can I root my device so I can fix my recovery, or the other way around? Thanks :)

Used Link2SD and now Snapchat refuses to work properly.

I installed Link2SD. It did everything I wanted it to do. No issues there. Except maybe 1.

Whenever I open Snapchat it instantly minimizes. It doesn't seem to crash, just minimize. Whenever I try to maximize it, it just minimizes again and again. It wants to be minimized all the time and I can't get it to stay up.

Ive tried to reinstall it, delete cache/data, install older versions, force stop, move to internal and external. Nothing seems to help.

I'm not even 100% sure that Link2SD is to blame tbh. Its just the only thing I can think of. Truth be told, I like Link2SD more than Snapchat. So I'm not willing to get rid of it if it is at fault. Its just annoying that I can't get the damn thing to work.

Ive tried getting help in several other places but haven't gotten a single response. I'm hoping someone here can help or point me in the rite direction!

AT&T Mega 2 and Kngroot issue

Kingroot did something to my phone and now it doesnt work. All i get is a yellow triangle with an exclemation mark and the message System software not authorized by Verizon wireless has been found on your phone. please turn off your phone and go the nearest verizon wireless store for help. How am i getting this on an att phone? My computer doesn't recognize it when i plug it in. Is there anything i can do to get it working without losing everything? is there a way t get my contacts and texts off the phone? Those are the 2 main things i need, getting the phone working is secondary.

Non responsive touch screen T710

Hi,

I have a T710 that's about 6 months old and had fairly light use.

Yesterday after charging up to 100% while off, it turned on only for the touch screen to fail to respond. The capacitive keys and fingerprint sensor and physical buttons all work perfectly, the tablet boots normally, and even responds to OK Google - but no touch is registered on the screen at all.

There is no screen protector on it and it has not been dropped or damaged. I noticed a day or two ago when playing a game that the screen was a little slow to respond, but put this down to maybe greasy fingers or a laggy game.

It is currently running a stock 5.01 Rom, although there was an update or week or two back - but I've had it working since then.

This happened once before about 3 months ago and I was in the process of returning it when I flashed a stock ROM through ODIN, which solved the problem and it worked fine until yesterday - this seems to suggest that it's not a hardware issue.

Before I go down the Odin process again and hence wipe it, are there any other things I can try that might work?

I've never rooted and the Knox counter is not tripped, so I could send it back under warranty, but that will mean sending it away and as I imported it from Hong Kong I don't know if Samsung will raise an issue (I'm UK based).

Previous googling when I had the issue before found a post or two suggesting that it was something to do with charging after letting it run down that led to others seeing the same issue - but can't find anything in this forum.

Help - Bricked M9 - yes my fault come read and laugh (and help)

Hi all, I need help with a big big problem.. Long story short, I bricked the phone. I think it's gone forever but I'm trying to ask here if someone got ideas.
First I want to say I got another M9 rooted, custom rom installed etc and got no problems, but I did it long time ago, with older methods, while now I tried using Windroid Toolkit (http://ift.tt/1JdttQL).
Here's the story:
- Unlocked phone via HTCdev ==> OK and everything worked;
- Downloaded and installed Windroid Toolkit, and with this installed TWRP 3.0.0 ==> OK and everything worked;
- Always via Windroid toolkit installed SuperSU ==> Windroid Toolkit sends you in recovery TWRP and you select the right supersu.zip file. Installation completed ok, but when I rebooted phone, it went in loop: showed start white screen with HTC logo and red text ("This build is for development bla bla bla") for X seconds, then reboot, and so on forever.
At that point I was still safe because I could still enter bootloader/ recovery etc, BUT... Don't ask how, don't ask why :crying: :crying: :crying: , shame on me I entered recovery / ADVANCED/ WIPE and wiped: dalvik cache, cache, system, data, internal storage... ( yes I know.. total stupidity :silly: ).
So now I am stuck at white screen with HTC logo and red text. I cannot reboot, I cannot even switch off phone keeping POWER button pressed! ("yeah you moron, you deleted os!" I know I know..).
If I connect phone to PC i hear the USB Windows sound but giving "adb devices" says "List of devices attached" like nothing is connected.
Also tried with RUU.exe but nothing (first version I found for M9, it is just to tell you it cannot see the device "Ensure your device is connected to USB").
Now I am waiting for the phone to run out of battery so I can try to VOL DOWN + POWER btn but I have no hope...
So in the end, do you have some idea?
I am very angry because I always rooted and installed custom roms, starting from HTC Diamond, always bought only HTCs and never had a problem, now I did this bulls**t with the phone I bought as gift for my father..

SUPERSU link for OPO COS 13 ( 6.0.1) ? help

Hello Friends,

I have tried to root my OPO running on cos 13 through TWRP. Unfortunately the rooting failed and the phone failed to start, It hangs in "cyanogen mod ready " boot animation screen. some how I have managed to flash the phone to stock OS and again updated it to COS 13.
Now I would like to root the phone , Please someone provide me the right SUPERSU link !
so that I can use it through TWRP.

P.S: The bootloader is already Unlocked.

Hello from the V10 Forum! This is a mod I created and posted for V10 users, but as various devices use Qualcomm hardware and similar operational conditions, the biggest similarity being Linux ;), and by some requests from others here to post this, I am offering this modification to other devices as well. It is already thoroughly tested and the logic and rationale behind the conditions are cross compatible with many Linux systems/machines anyways. You should see positive results just as everybody else has.

You must be rooted to apply this mod. :D

**SEE POST 2 FOR CHANGE LOG**

***VERY IMPORTANT IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE THIS MOD, you need to navigate to the /system/etc folder on your device, and rename any files that exist in that sub-folder that have the words "ZRAM" in them to have a .bak extension rather than a .sh extension so it does not run at boot.

This modification will also disable the mpdecision binary (it is only renamed so it is not recognized)



This is a step by step instruction on how to replace the /system/etc/init.qcom.post_boot.sh file for the device. Be it known, however, that this instruction (and file) can be used with any device running the Snapdragon 805 SoC combo.

What does this do?

Simple. It turns your device into an even more efficient powerhouse. Here are is a list of everything done:

-Interactive Governor tuning for performance and better battery life, a quick description of what I did...
-low load, quick response, low frequency
-high load, quick response, higher frequency
-modified input boost settings for Interactive
-Locked cpu cores on - your battery life will not suffer, don't worry.
-Modified a bunch of system permissions to remove samsung garbage from controlling hardware.
-Switched IO scheduler to noop, and tuned accordingly
-Adjusted minfree values (RAM management, it is a little more multi-tasking friendly)
-Adjusted VM parameters - swappiness, dirty ratios, cache pressure, centisec values, etc (again to complement multi-tasking... your data will hang out a little bit more before being written to disk, but house cleaning won't happen all at once, so there is still good performance and your system won't bog down while it is flushing the toilet)
-DISABLED zRAM!!! - I have no idea why a device with 4 GB of RAM has zRAM enabled. This is purely a waste of CPU cycles and other system resources. You want physical memory, not compressed memory.
-Changed congestion algorithm to cubic (better network performance... assuming the network bandwidth is already there ;) ;)
-Cleaned up the shell file and fixed some errors.
-Disabled mpdecision binary
-More to come!

Rebooting every time I download big files

When I download anything from direct downloads or tormenting my phone will glitch and take forever to unlock and sometimes freeze with my always on clock on and I have to do a reset by holding all the buttons or it will just randomly restart.

This is very annoying since I use my phone to download lots of things.

Wifi issues HTC 10 - weak signal = fail connection

Hi all,

Hope someone is able to help out on this one.
Have this evening received my htc 10 (black version).
The device does almost everything in a stunning fashion in terms of speed, it's crisp it's snappy, damn good device.

However I have been installing my device and working on it (little fb, insta, websurfing) whilst being within 5m reach of my wifi router.

Now it was time to go to bed and went upstairs, this is where the strange stuff started:

The device shows decent wifi signal (3 out of 4 in the indicator) still webpages won't load, fb not showing images and fails loading new stuff, all apps inform the Internet connection fails (still 3 out of 4 is indicated).
When I disable wifi and 4g kicks in it again works like a charm. The second wifi switched on again everything's failing again.

Do any of you experience the same and more importantly how can this be fixed?

How to flash malaysk mtcb rom on 10.1 joying 4.4.4

Nobody can give me a clear definition on how to flash a rom on joying 10.1 Inch model
This is a mtcb rk3188 device with 4.4.4 android.

I' had no issues doing this with my rk3188 7 inch model with volume knob.

This unit has touch buttons only and pin holes for reset and power .
After extracting the update.img and placing the update.img on the USB drive and choosing system update in Android settings it reboots to 3e stock recovery and says
Can't mount external SD
Can't mount external SD
Can't mount external SD

Then it starts flashing with a progress bar but fails saying mcu update aborted.

What am I doing wrong here.
We Need a real standard method layout clearly like cell phone forums clearly lay out under they're Root and install sections.
It's all scattered around in the android radio Forums

Remove battery and charge cover notification

Ok. So I had to reset my phone due to some issues I was having. Now I have this stupid notification again. I know I removed it on lollipop last year but for the life of me I cannot figure it out. I am not on a deodexed rom so I cannot go the xposed route. I thought it was done thru csc feature expert but cannot find it there. Can someone help me find this?

What keeps waking up my screen?

Stock MM, rooted/Xposed/TWRP.

If I leave my phone sitting face up on my desk, sometimes the screen will come on for about 1-2 seconds for no apparent reason. It's not a full wakeup, because the screen times out really quickly.

It seems to be random, it only seems to happen a couple times a day.. honestly it's usually in my pocket so I wouldn't see it, so I'm not really sure how often it happens. So far it's happened twice in the 4 hours or so I've been sitting here.

I have all that "wave-over" stuff turned off.

I seem to remember it happening with LP too.

[Q] some questions

hey guys, i run android 6.0.1 mm on galaxy s6 edge+ , audax latests but i miss something or maby it is changed, maby somone here can help out with that ,

1. i miss the gray gear in widgets
2. how to view notification log
3. is it me or is android 6.0.1 more laggy with games and giving gpu less performance ?, the score is kinda low no ? on arter kernel i had like 5400+/- and now 4900+/-
