Modernising Parrot Asteroid Tablet

G'day guys,

I've done a heap of google searching in an attempt to find out whether anyone has attempted what I'm trying to achieve. Ofcourse there appears to be zero information so I'm turning to XDA in hope of being pointed in the right direction. I drive a Ford Falcon so wanting to put a double din android head unit in is essentially out of the question without irreversibly modifying anything. Which I'm not going to do.

I've installed a Parrot Asteroid Tablet into my car. The whole system works quite well, it does exactly what the box describes. I have done the obligatory root and install the Playstore to get some real usability out of it. My problem is the tablet is woefully outdated in terms of internal storage, processing power and its running Android 2.3 (it's severely limited on available apps these days). Basically once i rooted and installed the Playstore plus a couple of other small apps, it has run out of internal storage and I've discovered its quite difficult to move any apps over to the SD card.

Now to my crazy and I think difficult plan.

Basically i would like to upgrade the tablet to something far more modern, either a small tablet or phablet. Why I think this plan may work, not that i think i will be easy. The Parrot tablet communicates with a box that sits under the dashboard in my car which contains all the bits that are plugged in to get all the functionality (bluetooth mic, usb hub, aux in etc.) The tablet communicates with the box via mini USB (this is where i think my plan may have some merit).

The first thing I have tried is getting a micro USB OTG cable and a mini USB cable and plugged my Galaxy Note Edge straight in to see if i could get any communication or atleast sound output from my phone. Of course that didn't work. The only thing that happened was the screen illuminated, no sound output, no charging, no recognition of the usb stick which was plugged into the box full of music.

I'm not really sure what the next step would be making this plan work, that's where I'm hopeful you guys can help.

Any help or guidance to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Stefan

Horrible battery life, with a new MXP

I purchased the phone a week ago. Updated everything, and using 6.0.1 stock rom. My usage is exactly the same, as well as the apps I use, (Firefox, soundcloud, messenger, tapatalk) that I had on my moto e 2nd gen.

With moto e:
3h consistent sot or a bit more
12h daily usage

With moto x play:
4/4:30h SOT Max (cannot get more)
10/12h usage (cannot get more)

I don't know what's wrong and I think my phone is faulty. Yes, the battery does not last forever, but I am having almost similar results as the moto e? Wtf? No root on both. Also, the phone is so slow while browsing certain sites, especially with Firefox? Flash videos and heavy pictures are a bitch to load and the browser even stalls.

Would you guys return the phone in this case? I don't have much choice with wind currently, and I am looking at other phones but don't like much stuff.

I bought a G2 t-mobile on eBay and the seller ****ed me up, stating it was new, when it was refurbished. Would love to find a decent one, fast, but the battery is probably going to have to be swapped?

Also.... The note 4... Still worth it? Just find it big, but the endurance rating on gsmarena is awesome.

Please guys... Give me some guidance here. I have my head on a daze

SM-G920R4 US Cellular 6.0.1 Root

If anyone wants to root their US cellular S6 Smg920r4 on 6.0.1, I know there's no section here for US Cellular, but this works perfect. It's the Sprint TWRP 6.0.1 Marshmallow root method. Just follow the instructions in the Sprint thread. Root in minutes thru Odin. Hope it helps someone else like me who was looking and looking for Sm-g920r4 specific root.

M8_wlv Verizon *BATTERY ISSUE"

My m8_wlv has a battery percentage conflict,
Ex1: sometimes it stuck with the current percentage even if the charger was plugged, it remains for hours as it is "2%" like it is not charging..
when shutdown and power on , i see the real percentage of my battery level "87%"
Ex2: sometimes it drop very quickly and stuck on 2% for half an hour and after restarting its number was "14%".

I search for a solution but none work for me
**Wipe cash from recovery
**factory reset from recovery
**the method of holding "volume up, down, power" for 2 min
**flashing a new ruu
Nothing from the above solve the problem.

Details: M8-wlv
0p6b20000
S-off
Locked
Battery-status: good " fastboot getvar all"
Official rom status
Running ruu: DOTTAT_VZWM8_M_S_ON_6_0_RUU
Also same problem occured previously with ruu 4.4.2
